A total of six contracts for wine-related projects, with an investment of $140 million, were signed at the seventh International Wine Expo, which concluded on July 7 in Yantai, in Shandong province.
The deals, including $88.75 million in contractual foreign capital, cover the construction of vineyards, wine production bases, wine-themed hotels, as well as cultural tourism.
Since 2007, the International Wine Expo has been held in Yantai every year, and it has become an important business platform for domestic and foreign wine producers.
This year’s event attracted more than 3,000 exhibitors and business people from over ten countries and regions, including France, Australia, South Africa, and Japan.
During the three-day event, a total of $61-million worth of vintage wines and wine-related products were transacted, with an import value of $50.7 million and exports totaling $10.3 million.
