China inaugural national ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) Extreme Challenge competition will be heldin Dongying, Shandong province, from Oct 4-6.

An ATV, also known as a quad, quad bike or four-wheeler, is a vehicle that travels on low-pressure tires, with a seat that is straddled by the operator, along with handlebars forsteering.

The event will attract about 100 participants from China's more than 20 ATV clubs in twocategories - professional and open. It has also drawn close attention and participation fromnoted international ATV manufacturers such as Polaris, Bombardier and Yamaha, as well asChina's Huansong and Lingying.

An ATV carnival which will include outdoor sports, test drives and road shows will be held inconjunction with the three-day competition.
