A cultural league was founded on Nov 11 in Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, to increase the province's cultural competitiveness.

The league consists of 13 organizations involved in culture-related sectors, including the International Channel of Shandong Radio and Television Station, the American Chinese Youth Federation and the Shandong Arts and Crafts Association.

The league will put its effort into building world-famous cultural brands, according to Ju Chengli, secretary of the league.
