The 2010 China (Qingdao) International Fashion Week will be held at the Qingdao International Convention Center from May 5 to 9.
China (Qingdao) International Fashion Week has been held continuously for 9 sessions since its establishment in 2001, and it plays an important role to guiding fashion, manifesting design talents, fostering independent brands, boosting industrial development and creating a city of fashion.
Unlike previous sessions, the 2010 Fashion Week invites 53 Beauties of the World to assist the fashion release and design contest.
Beauty of the World Finals will debut in Qingdao
Jiang Wei, president of the Beijing Xingao International Cultural Exchange Company, introduces Beauty of the World as an international contest hosted by the World Beauty Congress (WBC), which boasts a ten-year history and has become an influential fashion event worldwide. It is the only beauty contest wholly owed by China in terms of intellectual property rights.
The Beauty of the World contest came to China in 2007 and has been successfully held in China for three sessions. The 2010 Beauty of the World finals will be held in Qingdao, with beauties from 53 countries taking part. Every year, in over 70 countries, 2 billion people watch the Beauty of the World finals on TV. It is meaningful that the contest boosts international cultural exchange and makes the city more popular.
Fan Xiu, deputy director of the Qingdao Economics and Information Committee, said that 2010 will be the ten-year anniversary of Qingdao Fashion Week. By cooperating with beauties from around the world, famous domestic fashion designers and internationally renowned fashion brands will be given a chance to showcase their new concepts and new works, fascinating the audience, and bringing the China (Qingdao) International Fashion Week to a new high.
