The Sino-Canada Service Outsourcing ESL Project started recently at Qingdao Software Park, which means Qingdao-made courseware will soon debut in Canadian classes. It is the first time the project has been held in a non-English speaking country.
According to Ma Zhibin, vice-president of Qingdao Software Park, the project aims to make a program named "English as Second Language (ESL)" for educational institutions. The courseware is widely used in English-speaking countries for assisting in teaching mathematics and science.
Thanks to the outsourcing platform developed by Qingdao Software Park, the ESL project is off to a good start.
According to Ma Zhibin, it is hard for enterprises to bid for the project alone. "Qingdao Software Park includes over 180 enterprises," he said. "They can join efforts together to open overseas markets, which is our original intention: to set up the outsourcing platform."
Today, the outsourcing platform has relations with nearly ten companies in America and Canada, making efforts to promote the economy in the Blue Shandong Peninsula Economic Zone.
