The China (Shouguang) Agricultural Products Logistics Park began operating on November 5, with its Phase I project now complete.
Construction of its Phase II project began on the same day. The Park is expected to be the largest of its type in Asia when Phase II is completed in 2010.
Crucially positioned on the vegetable transportation route connecting the south and north, the Park covers 200 hectares in size, representing a total investment of 2 billion yuan.
The Park consists of six areas including a vegetable and fruit trade area, e-business area, agricultural products processing area and distribution area. It is considered China’s largest vegetable distribution center and vegetable information exchange center.
The trade area is home to six halls with a net height of 10 meters and a construction area of 140,000 sq m. Among them, two halls have a beam span of 57 m and 53.5 m, making them China’s largest single exhibition halls.
The Park also features 100,000-sq-m parking lots, hotels and garages.
Devised by famous American design company Parsons Brinckerhoff, the park is a Shandong key project approved by the National Development and Reform Committee.
Hong Kong Able Vantage Limited has invested in the project.
