JINAN: China's judo Olympic champion, Tong Wen, wrenched her back in a warm-up training Monday morning, and withdrew from the on-going 11th Chinese National Games.

She was immediately sent to a local hospital in Binzhou city, eastern Shandong province, for emergency treatment, and transferred to Tianjin Municipality for further medical treatment, Tianjin delegation official, Meng Xiandong, told Xinhua on telephone.

Tong represents Tianjin and is considered the most competitive in the women's over 78kg class at this National Games.

Tong claimed the gold medal in her event at the Beijing Olympics last year, and was just crowned at the judo world championships in late August.
