The route of the coming torch relay

Under the uniform requirements of the Organizing Committee of the 11th National Games, a notice was issued by the traffic police headquarters of the Shandong Public Security Bureau assigning traffic safety and security work during the torch relay.

The torch relay for the 11th National Games will be held in 17 cities in Shandong province starting from September 19 to October 15.

Areas along the relay route will be kept under regional traffic control and major roads, level-crossings, expressway service areas and toll stations will be equipped with tow trucks and rescue vehicles. Flexible traffic control and diversion measures will be exercised on periphery roads and traffic information will be released to the public.

Police for alternative routes and official routes will also be put in position in case of emergency situations,

The Olympic Sailing Center in Qingdao will be the first stop as well as the starting line for the relay tour. The whole route of the torch relay is as follows:

From Sept 19-27: Qingdao (Sept 19), Weihai (Sept 20), Yantai (Sept 21), Weifang (Sept 22), Rizhao (Sept 23), Linyi (Sept 24), Jining (Sept 25), Zaozhuang (Sept 26), Heze (Sept 27).

From Oct 8-15: Liaocheng (Oct 8), Dezhou (Oct 9), Binzhou (Oct 10), Dongying (Oct 11), Zibo (Oct 12), Laiwu (Oct 13), Tai’an (Oct 14), Jinan (Oct 15).

At the opening ceremony on October 16, the cauldron will be ignited in Jinan Olympic Center.
