China launched a national organ donation system yesterday to regulate the management of organ transplants.
The system, organized mainly by the Red Cross Society of China and the Ministry of Health, lists 10 provinces and cities as pilot places, including Shandong province. It will be operated at both State and provincial levels with donated organs allocated locally first.
Other pilot project areas include Shanghai, Tianjin, Fujian (Xiamen), Jiangsu (Nanjing), Hubei (Wuhan), Liaoning, and Jiangxi.
