Zhang Jianguo, director general of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, met with a European Parliament delegation headed by British senator Derek Vaughan on January 4, 2015.

The delegation, consisting of several European Parliament members from the UK, Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, was invited to visit China by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

Both sides had discussions about several subjects, including arranging an international round-table, jointly holding a China-Europe environment engineering technology seminar, and strengthening bilateral exchange of talents in various fields.

The two parties also reached consensus on signing an MOU this year.

On the delegation's invitation, Zhang said he would pay a return visit to the European Parliament in the foreseeable future.

Present at the meeting were Liu Yanguo, deputy director, and officials from different departments of the SAFEA.
