The Lotus is adapted from a legend about a monk named Yue who was believed to have chiseled the first cave of Mogao Grottoes, a collection of ancient Buddhist cave artworks. Most of the movements involved in the dance drama are inspired from the murals on the grotto walls of Mogaoes.
The dance drama will be held at the Qingdao Grand Theater. Ticket prices range from 80 yuan ($13) to 280 yuan ($44.70).
