Peking University Science Park and the Beijing Institute of Collaborative Innovation plan to establish a Peking University (Qingdao) Science Park in the city of Qingdao’s National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, in Shandong province.

The two signed an agreement with the Zone, on Sept 29, which calls for the University Science Park to work with the Zone on an applied technology innovation platform in cooperation with colleges, universities, and enterprises for technological innovation and hiring of top professionals.

The Qingdao Science Park is expected to be a regional site for talented people and technology to help develop the Zone and to provide technological support, information exchanges, operations and managerial services to help Peking and other universities apply their scientific developments to industry.

The Science Park has Science and Technology and Education ministry approval and provides services for technology companies and is a way for Peking University to support China’s high-tech industries and industrialize its scientific and technological developments. It has branches in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.

The Beijing Institute of Collaborative Innovation, which opened in late August, works with 70-plus universities and enterprises to integrate universities and research institutes with industries and enterprises for a world-class innovation center.
