The research vessel "Dayang Yihao" (Ocean No one) returned to Qingdao on May 29.

The vessel departed from Sanya, in southern China's Hainan province, on December 2, 2013. It was China's first voyage to work on the contract exploring for polymetallic sulphides in the southwest of the Indian Ocean.

Among the experiments, researchers did a series of oceanic surveys mainly on polymetallic sulphides and bioresources. 11 hydrothermal areas were found in the contract area.

The voyage lasted 179 days and covered 25,628 nautical miles. A total of 133 researchers were on board, including three foreign researchers from Cameroon, Thailand and Argentina.
