Geely-Volvo China Design & Test Center in the city's Hangzhou Bay area has built a large underground parking facility capable of holding more than 600 cars. The facility, costing 100 million yuan (US$15.58 million), will put to service soon.
According to a Hangzhou Bay development blueprint, authorities will build a network of utility tunnels totaling 60.49 kilometers in length and costing about 2.1 billion yuan to save precious land resources and guarantee the safety of power cables and water, gas and sewer pipes.
Ningbo Huaqiang Cultural Park will also have 20 hectares of land developed into a commercial and cultural complex with parking, shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. Its 195-million-yuan first phase will include a five-floor parking facility with 3,134 parking spaces, including 385 for buses. Its second phase will include an underground parking lot for 1,750 cars, a camp site for motor homes, and an outdoor theater for films and music festivals.
