Macedonia, situated in the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe, is also a trade and business partner of Ningbo. Ningbo and Bitola in southern Macedonia signed an agreement in 2014 for friendly exchange and cooperation. As nominated by Bitola city, Aneta Shijakova, a journalist from Macedonia's Kanal 5 television station, Aneta Shijakova, attended a media tour in Ningbo and reported about the city.

Ningbo and Macedonia have kept close ties in foreign trade. The total foreign tradevolume between Ningbo and Macedonia recorded a 22.5 percent increase in 2013 and 4.3 percent in 2014. Fasteners, air conditioners and motorbikes made in Ningbo are popular in the Macedonian market.

Ningbo is aimed to achieve more trade cooperation in trade with Macedonia in the future. People who want to visit Macedonia can join the organized group tour to Central and Eastern Europe in June.
