Shenyang to carry out 100 water projects in 2018

Shenyang will start constructions of around 100 water projects in 2018 to improve people’s livelihood, according to information from a press conference held by Shenyang Water Group on April 8.
The water projects will cover six fields, including waterlogging prevention, drainage, water pipeline transformation and waste water disposal.
The total investment of the projects is estimated to reach 6 billion yuan ($952.8 million).
As of April 8, waterlogging prevention and water pipeline transformation projects have started constructions.
According to the construction plan, waterlogging prevention projects will be constructed over a three-year period; and this year’s two batch of projects are anticipated to be finished by the end of April and June respectively.
Meanwhile, from April 1, transformation on 1,460 kilometers of water pipeline has been carried out in 454 residential communities in Shenyang.
The project will benefit 1.19 million rural residents; and save 58,500 metric tons of water and 10,200 kilowatt-hour of electricity per year.
Additionally, Shenyang will establish two water purification plants in Dahuofang and Liaoxibei, which respectively have a water treatment capacity of 350,000 tons and 550,000 tons.
The total investment is around 3 billion yuan. And the two plants are scheduled to start operations by the end of Dec 31, 2019.
