Shenyang set a goal to promote its rural e-commerce industry over the following three years, as it has received official approval to become a national e-commerce demonstration city.
Shenyang has already launched a series of policies to support the development of its rural e-commerce industry, according to an announcement at a press conference held by Shenyang government on Sept 7.
Shenyang’s rural e-commerce industry is currently restricted due to high logistics costs, an outdated commerce development concept, counterfeit and poor quality products, as well as a shortage of professional e-commerce practitioners, claimed an official at Shenyang supply and marketing cooperative.
To solve the problems, Shenyang will implement a five-year plan to develop rural e-commerce, strengthening the integration of online and offline marketing, and developing an “internet+transportation” plan.
According to Shenyang’s rural e-commerce industry layout, by the end of 2020, the e-commerce service network will cover all the county-level, and over 90 percent of the village-level areas in Shenyang. The city will also cultivate 30 characteristic brands of agricultural products and train about 2,000 professional e-commerce practitioners. The turnover volume of the rural e-commerce industry is expected to reach 200 million yuan ($30.86 million) by the end of 2020.
