Shenyang hosts drama education forum

A forum on using drama to educate students was held in Shenyang on May 26, where experts discussed various topics including the present education conditions and the outlook for this new form of education.
Using drama to educate is gradually gaining popularity in China, and is a new type of education that integrates drama and education.
"Students take part in drama to feel, experience and create beauty,"claimed one of the sponsors.
Under atheme of "Integration, Innovation and Development", the forum was divided into two parts –– language development throughdrama and creative drama education––with experts and teachers gathering to share opinions on the future development of this new form of education.
Sponsored by Shenyang Normal University and the International Drama Association, the forum invited over 20 experts in drama and education, including from Japan, Russia, the UK, Australia and Hungary. The highlights of the event includedCui Kai, vice-chairman of the Chinese Ballad Singers Association; Rob Van Ginette, chairman of the International Drama Association, as well asthe British drama expert Doctor Richard Fincher.
In addition, the event attracted some 200 university lecturers from across China.
