Shenyang Forest Zoo, a 4A scenic spot located at Qiban Mountain in Shenyang city, is recruiting 10 to 12 panda keepers, as the zoo will showcase four giant pandas to the public from June 2017, according to information from Shenyang Tourism Group released on Sept 20. The group mainly undertakes projects involving tourism development and catering services.
The job is targeted at people who are interested in protecting wildlife and have an academic background related to animal science, wildlife protection, or animal nutrition. Applicants should not be over 35 years old.
One keeper can only take care of one to two pandas, reflecting how demanding it is looking after this type of animal, according to an official from the China Giant Panda Research and Protection Center.
A strong sense of responsibility for the protection of pandas is the priority, an insider at the zoo said. He also claimed that the zoo was aiming to educate the public about the importance of protecting wildlife.
