Liaoning Kangping Economic Development Zone

The Liaoning Kangping Economic Development Zone was established in 2002 and got Liaoning provincial government approval as a province-level economic development zone, in May 2006. It has a planned area of 45 square kilometers, with 20 sq km of that already developed, and a population of 18,500.
It had a gross regional production of 5 billion yuan, in 2013, assets of 3.7 billion yuan, revenues of 80 million yuan, and exports worth $13 million. After years of work it has a new development program that focuses on plastic weaving, new energy, agricultural and sideline product processing, and textiles and garments. Its plastic weaving industrial cluster is northeast China's largest and has a planned development area of 10 sq km, 5 sq km of that completed, with nearly 200 related enterprises. It is one of the city of Shenyang's 33 major industrial clusters and one of Liaoning province’s 115 priority private industrial clusters. It plans to build one of the largest plastic weaving industrial clusters in northern China or even the whole country and a demonstration site, by 2015, with an output value of 50 billion yuan.
The zone's new energy industry has a planned area of 2.5 sq km, with the focus on new energy projects in solar cells, cold light sources, LED lights, microelectronics and wind power generation. An 800-Mw solar cell project of the Beijing Hengjiweiye Electronic Products Co has managed to filled in some gaps in the solar industry in Shenyang and Liaoning province. The zone's agricultural and sideline products processing industry has a planned area of 3 sq km, with 2 sq km of that completed. Thanks to geographical advantages and the intensive processing of local agricultural products in Kangping county and the surrounding area, the industrial cluster has its own leading enterprises and famous brands, and an agricultural and sideline product deep-processing base with good added value, and 26 agricultural and sideline products processers, including the Shenyang Xiongzhou Group Food Industry Co, Jiangsu Yurun Food Industry (Group) Co, and a peanut and soybean deep-processing branch of the Shenyang Hengyu Fengtai Technology Co.
The zone's textile and garment industrial cluster has a planned area of 4 sq km, with 3.2 sq km of that completed. And, by giving priority to modern textile industries in cotton and wool manufacturing, knitting, household textiles, industrial textiles and non-woven articles, it has attracted 36 textile and garment enterprises.
