The 2016 China (Shenyang) International Tourism Festival recently kicked off in Shenyang, Northeast China's Liaoning province.
Shenyang, also named "Shengjing" or "Fengtian", is a city with a long history and colorful culture.
For years, Shenyang has been known as the cradle of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), and for its well-preserved heritage and rich cultural traditions.
Shenyang is also famous for its beautiful natural scenery, especially the autumn leaves.
As of 2015, there are a total of 74 scenic spots in Shenyang.
With cool weather in autumn and plenty of exciting activities to take part in, Shenyang’s tourism bureau launched the international tourism festival, which is aiming to attract more tourists from home and abroad.
According to information from the festival committee, the event is divided into four parts: viewing Shenyang, enjoying autumn scenery, a tourism exhibition and picking fruit –– with a total of 83 activities.
Following the festival, tourists can not only experience Shenyang’s history and culture through activities like the emperor temple fair, tourism exhibition, and visiting the Mukden Palace, but also enjoy beautiful scenery, including maple leaf forests, ginkgo trees, and melon and fruit plantations.
