A conference held to discuss experiences of Sino-German cooperation in the field of intelligent manufacturing, was held in the Lingjiang District of Shanghai municipality on Sept 1, during which, 14 trial cooperation projects were unveiled, Shenyang Daily reported.
Last July, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology signed a memorandum of understanding with the German Economic Affairs and Energy Ministry, to cooperate on core areas such as intelligent manufacturing and applying new technology to the production process.
The cooperation is in line with China’s national Made in China 2025 strategy which began in 2014, and Germany’s Industry 4.0 plan, which both aim to increase industrial efficiency by optimizing production modes through information technology and digitization.
Of the agreed projects, two projects from Shenyang are on the list: the Sino-German (Shenyang) Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Park project, and the Sino-German (Shenyang) Intelligent Equipment College project.
The Sino-German (Shenyang) Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Park, with a total area of 48 square kilometers, will seek cooperation on smart manufacturing techniques, advanced machine manufacturing, and industrial services; in cooperation with German businesses, including BMW, Siemens, and KUKA Roboter GmbH.
The Sino-German (Shenyang) Intelligent Equipment College project, which is targeted at both universities and businesses, will develop cooperation in fields including staff training, social services, construction, research, and development of intelligent manufacturing techniques.
