The 15th China International Equipment Manufacturing Exposition is to be held at the Shenyang International Expo Center in Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on September 1-5,Shenyang Daily reported on August 11.

The exposition which covers 110,000 square meters and contains some 4,000 exhibition stands, is expected to attract around 1,000 businesses from both home and abroad, with foreign businesses accounting for just over 33 percent of the total. Famous exhibitors include Siemens, Mitsubishi and Omron.

Compared with similar previous exhibitions, this exhibition is significant both for its scale and for the amount of international businesses taking part. This comes despite a more negative outlook for the global economy.

In addition, about 160,000 guests, technicians and purchasing agents are expected to attend the exposition, setting an attendance record for the event.

This year, for the first time, e-commerce businesses will be in attendance.Well-known firms attending include Chinese online retailing giant, Alibaba, and the world’s leading Internet company, Google, who together are going to establish an “Internet plus equipment manufacturing industry” trade services platform for buyers and sellers.

During the exposition, China’s First Science and Technology Exhibition for National Defense and Shenyang’s Second International Robot Exhibition will also be held.
