Belarus chorus members learn Chinese fan dance

The 2016 China Shenyang International Chorus Festival opened at Shengjing Grand Theatre on August 1. Choruses from various countries performed several Chinese folk songs such as Our Village People and Home in Anyuan.

During the festival, eight choruses from the US, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, the Republic of Belarus and 15 from China, a total of nearly 3,000 performers joined in the event.
The Kazakhstan Choir performed a popular Chinese song "Where did the time go?", after which the audiences demanded an encore, shouting "one more time!"

A children's chorus from Moscow sang the Russian folk song -- Kalinka and the Chinese famous song -- The Ocean is My Hometown, which the children learned in only one day.

Before the festival, members of the Republic of Belarus' chorus also practiced the classic song -- Katyusha and learned Northeastern China's traditional fan dance (Shanwu in Chinese).

A Cappella choruses from the US and Ukraine jointly performed the Chinese classic song -- Alone in My Chamber. Mrs. Wang, a Shenyang citizen, praised the festival, saying "Music without borders! The performers brought all the music fans great joy."
