Shenyang delegation attends China-South Korea Economic Ministers Meeting

At the 14th China-South Korea Economic Ministers Meeting, which took place in the Korean capital, Seoul, May 26 - 30, the city of Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province sent a delegation to participate and was asked to be a key city for promoting cooperation with South Korean cities.
The Shenyang delegation included the vice-mayor, Wang Xiangkun, who signed a memorandum of understanding on economic and technological cooperation with its Korean sister city, Daejeon, and addressed the gathering by explaining Shenyang's advantages, opportunities and future for Korean cooperation.
At the same time, the chairman of China's National Development and Reform Commission, Xu Shaoshi, signed a document on the Economic Ministers Meeting with South Korea's finance minister, raising Shenyang's cooperation with South Korea to the level of a national strategy, which, as a result, means a good opportunity to turn itself into a China-South Korea cooperative demonstration area.
In addition, the delegation reached a cooperation consensus with their South Korea counterparts on a China-South Korea innovation and entrepreneurship center, cooperation on parks, and on smart city construction and had time to do a field study of smart city construction work in the Inchon Free Economic Zone, where they reached an agreement on smart city development.
They also paid a visit to local enterprises, such as Lotte, to speak about ideas of the two countries' leaders on the results of the China-South Korea Free Trade Agreement, and the results of this year's economic ministers meeting.
