The city of Shenyang, Liaoning province has announced the opening, after five years of construction work, of China's biggest cyber game industrial base, on Jan 30, meaning a new step in the economic transformation of the city.

The base focuses on electronic sports, competition organizing, computer game videos and media, integrating sports, entertainment, electronics, telecoms, and hardware.

The 50,000-square-meter base is expected to help make optimal use of the industrial structure and add new economic growth to Liaoning, which now has more than 1,000 professional cyber game players and about 10,000 semi-pros.
