According to Shengyang Daily, the total retail sales of consumer goods in Shenyang reached 18.3 million yuan ($2.86 million) in the first half of the year, an increase of 8.1 percent from the same time last year.

Online retail sales in the city grew 36.2 percent. Retail sales in local towns and cities reached 17.2 million yuan, an increase of 7.2 percent; and in rural villages grew 23.7 percent to 1.1 million yuan. Sales in wholesale industry reached 1.7 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.6 percent, and for the retail industry reached 14.3 million yuan, an increase of 6.4 percent.

The total sales in the hotel industry were 128,000 yuan, an year-on-year increase of 12.2 percent and for catering were 2.1 million yuan, up 17.7 percent. The public economy had sales of 1.5 million yuan, an increase of 6.7 percent, and the private economy 16.8 million yuan, an increase of 8.3 percent.
