The Beijing International Tourism Expo 2012 was held in Beijing from June 15 to 17. Leading Dandong tourism enterprises organized by the Dandong Municipal Tourism Bureau participated in the event. 929 exhibitors and over 220 authorized buyers from 80 countries and regions worldwide as well as 25 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in the Chinese mainland, and delegates from Taiwan province also attended the gathering.

At the expo, many delegates from Taiwan were attracted by pictures displayed at Dandong's booth. Many showed keen interest in Dandong tourism.

The delegates from Taiwan paid special attention to Dandong's characteristic tourism products such as the border tour to North Korea, summer resort tour, and vacation tour. They expressed wishes to enhance cooperation with Dandong tourism enterprises and promote tourism products to attract more Taiwan people to travel in Dandong.
