On March 7, 2012, four new school buses were introduced to pick up students at the Gulouzi School in the Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County, Dandong of Liaoning province.

There are more than 8,000 boarding students at the primary and middle schools in Kuandian and as many as 5,000 of them take bus to go to school. In May of 2008, the Kuandian county Party committee and the county government allocated 2.4 million yuan ($379,440) to purchase 12 special school buses. Despite this, there was still a shortage of school buses for boarding school students due to insufficient capacity and bad road conditions. By the end of 2011, the county had invested 1.93 million yuan to buy ten other special school buses that have been put to use since Mar 7.
