Kuandian discovers Ming city wall

The working staff of the Kuandian administrative office discovered a section of ancient city wall in Kuandian. It has been confirmed as the ruins of a Ming city wall that dates back to more than 400 years.

The ancient city wall is located in a residential area in the Center Street of Kuandian county. Built with huge stones, the wall is about 30 meters long and 1.4 to 1.7 meters high.

This section of ancient city wall did not appear until the civilian buildings were torn down in an urban renewal project at the end of 2011. After an investigation from professionals in the Kuandian administrative office, the city wall ruins were confirmed to be part of the eastern city wall of the Kuandian fortress in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

This part of city wall has been well preserved for villagers built their houses and ware houses with it. The recent discovery of the wall will ensure better protection for the future.
