SHENYANG , Nov. 3, 2010 (Xinhua) -- Love remained a dream beyond touch for Dong Zhijun and Yuan Wanyu until they got to know each other through internet more than one year ago.

Dong Zhijun, a 23-year-old from a remote county named Tai'an in northeast China's Liaoning Province, was born with congenital rickets. Suffering from the tragic disease, Zhijun, dubbed "Mini Boy" or "Shorty" , is only 80 centi-meters in height.

The physically-disabled spent most of his childhood in bed since he was prone to fractures and thus became a home schooler.

At the age of 18, Zhijun asked his mother to buy him a second-hand computer, saying that he would like to be a helpful man rather than a burden to the society.

Several years of hard work paid off. Zhijun became a savvy in website construction and internet technology.

Now a founder of four websites and an operation supervisor of seven websites, he had been recruited as an IT clerk by an information services company in Anshan, regional capital of his hometown.

The story of Zhijun conquering physical and social challenges went beyond his hometown and tugged at the heartstrings of Yuan Wanyu, a girl in south China's Guangdong Province.

Wanyu, 21, was accidentally burned to great disfigurement when she was a one-year-old baby. She survived with no fingers in the left hand and nose burned off. For 20 years, Wanyu had been unable to close her eyes due to the disfigurement.

Financial difficulties of her family forced Wanyu to give up the college dream, and the discrimination caused by her features and physical defects also stripped the high-school graduate of many job opportunities, throwing Wanyu into despair.

In 2009, Wanyu, who was dejected after several unsuccessful job interviews, found a confidant on a head-hunting website for the disables.

That confidant happened to be Zhijun. Sharing the same fate, Wanyu found herself get a crush on Zhijun and gradually took him as Mr Right.

"He is a very kind man," said Wanyu.

In early April this year, Zhijun confessed his feelings to Wanyu. "I love her from my heart," Zhijun said, "and I will warm her heart all my life."

Wanyu was deeply touched by Zhijun's true-hearted confession and soon moved to his home in Liaoning.

In order to heal Wanyu's poor eyesight which was damaged by eye closing difficulty due to disfigurement, Zhijun brought the girl with all his savings to Shenyang, capital of Liaoning Province, for cosmetic therapy.

Their love gave them not only hope but help. Knowing of the youth couple's story, Shenyang Xiehe Cosmetic Hospital decided to waive 100,000 yuan (around 15,000 USD) in surgery fees.

After the first round of surgery, Wanyu is now one step closer to be a beautiful girl.

Meanwhile, Zhijun got a new start in his career. He set up a vegetable plantation and provided green vegetables to local residents and city dwellers.

"To me, she (Wanyu) is the holiest and most gorgeous girl in the world," Zhijun said, "I will marry her after she completes all the surgeries so that she can finally put on a beautiful wedding dress. No matter what happens, Wanyu and I will face up to it together."
