The 9th China International Equipment Manufacturing Exposition and National Energy Technology Equipment Exhibition kicked off on September 1 in Shenyang, capital city of Liaoning province.
Many high-ranking officials attended the opening ceremony, including Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Committee Zhang Guobao and secretary of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee Zeng Wei.
Zhang Meiying, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, announced the opening.
The Manufacturing Expo, independently hosted by the Shengyang government with the theme of “high-tech and equipment manufacturing,” became the largest session in scale since 2002, covering an area of 100,000 square meters and providing 4,113 booths for more than 700 companies from 16 countries and regions.
Zhang Baoguo, director of the National Energy Office, gave a speech at the opening ceremony, noting that equipment manufacturing is considered the aggregation of comprehensive techniques, symbolizing the technical level of Chinese industries.
Taking advantage of the recovering global economy and seizing great opportunities provided by the revolutions going on in the field of new energy sources, the equipment manufacturing industry is devoted to enhancing innovative capabilities and developing new products to maintain its competitive edge in the upcoming new all-around international competition, said Zhang.
“One of our goals for proactively hosting the Manufacturing Expo is to promote an exchange of information and technical innovation between domestic and foreign companies in this industry,” Chen Zhenggao, governor of the province.
“To create more business cooperation and attract overseas investments are also what we want to achieve,” he added.
In addition, the National Energy Technology Equipment Exhibition will also be held during the Manufacturing Expo proposed by the National Energy Office.
More than 1,400 exhibition booths are set up for 127 companies, including nine from the top 500 companies.
Participators will enjoy a series of activities at parts of the exhibition such as summits, technique lectures and award presentations.
The closing ceremony of the exhibition will be held on September 5.
