According to authorities in Shenyang province, Shenyang will build a system to better provide services for the elderly. It aims to achieve its three-year goal of building nursing homes in the rural central area.

Shenyang has invested 10 million yuan this year to build 100 exemplary daytime nursing stations for the elderly. Half of the investment has been assured to guarantee the construction work.

Shenyang's regional nursing home occupies 247,000 square kilometers, and 5,564 beds will be added. The first phase of its construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2010.
