Geese pull off harrowing highway crossing

A flock of geese decided to cross a busy highway on their feet instead of using their wings, in the city of Changchun, Jilin province, on June 12.
More than a dozen cars had to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting the birds who managed to make it across safely to the cover of a green belt, with the daring challenge being captured on camera by a reporter from a local newspaper.

The reporter explained, "They were looking for food over there and then wanted to take a nap, then noted, "but any animals crossing that motorway poses risks to motorists."
Transportation officials said there's nothing they can do about the casual visitors because their job is to control traffic and people, but, they added, they intend to go and talk with the owner of the fowl to look after them better.
