NE China conference discusses satellite ground-based systems

The surveying and mapping bureau of Jilin province held a conference on ground system improvements for China's Beidou satellites, in the city of Changchun, on Nov 14, a local newspaper reports, explaining that work on the ground-based system began in December 2014 and was completed this September to provide greater accuracy in positioning and navigation.
The ground improvements cover a provincial network for Beidou satellites and other GNSS systems and are expected to improve the security and accuracy of Beidou immensely, making Beidou more competitive with wider applications.
