The popular Chinese TV singing competition, "Voice of China", is opening season 5 and is in the process of mass electing participants from northeast China, in the city of Shenyang, Liaoning province, reports chinajilin.com.cn on Nov 5.

This is the first time that the show has held auditions nationwide and the Northeast segment will run from this November to next June and cover the three provinces of Jilin, Liaoning and Heilongjiang, with about 2,000 activities tailored for the area.

The producers and organizers are encouraging singing lovers to audition actively because they say the Northeast has a solid reception to the show and that many previous champions have come from the area.
