In Changchun, a music band named Simon is unique comparing with other bands.

Simon consists of five members, Inalbis Perez and her husband drum player Juan Madarro from Cuba, lead singers Nina Glushchenko from Kyrgyzstan, Yadria Gonzalez from Cuba and saxophone player Omelchuk Ievgen from Ukraine.

They have been playing in China for a few years. Opera houses, parks, restaurant in many Chinese cities are the stages for them.

"China has more job opportunity than Cuba. The culture, language, food are all different, but I am feeling that I fit in it," said Juan Madarro, who performs nearly everyday at 8 pm.

"We like China. It is like our second home." Madarro said while cooking dinner with his wife.

"Earning money in my country is much harder than in China. I love singing and Chinese people are very friendly. I wish to send my two children to China for education and work." Glushchenko is satisfied with her life here.

Every month, members of Simon, together with 70 other international performers in their company, hold their family day party, which includes barbeque and beer.
