On December 24th 2014, a chilly day in Changchun, capital city of Jilin province, some 50 local residents participated in a Christmas swimsuit run to raise money for poor kids in villages.
The event’s organizers hoped to raise more people’s awareness of helping the poor, and they even set up a campaign on Sina Weibo (Chinese social media similar twitter) with the aim of calling for more people to post their personal stories on helping the poor on Weibo.
In return, the event organizers will donate 10 yuan for each post and will donate the whole amount of money to those children in the end.
Similar events were held in other parts of the world.
