The annual festival was established in Hollywood, in 2005, to show how Chinese and Americans can cooperate in film and international cooperation in film education, film financing and film production and gets support from China’s State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and the China’s film association.
Another rural-life film from the Changchun Group was a finalist at the awards ceremony. Previously, the Group’s The Sun and Bronze Swallow Terrace (Tong Que Tai) took the Golden Angel Award, in 2011 and 2012.
The Group also handle TV production and has two TV series appearing on China Central Television (CCTV) and a new TV series about Zhiqing, a group of educated young people sent to work in the countryside during the "cultural revolution” (1966-76), which is expected to run by year’s end.
