Jilin to further enhance art development

A seminar on Northeast China’s Jilin province’s art development was recently held by the province's department of culture. Directors and professionals of art troupes and departments gave speeches echoing President Xi Jinping’s speech on the arts.

Luo Jincheng, Party chief of Jilin’s Chinese opera theatre said, "Dedicated as we are in the art industry, we clearly understand our responsibility and mission to promote inspiration and morality."

As a representative of civilian-run art troupes, Li Yunjie, deputy director of a local folk song-and-dance duet(or Errenzhuan in Chinese)troupe said that they will not only make efforts to enhance their base touching common people’s lives, but also deepen their thoughts and improve the artistry of their performances.

Lin Jun, director of Jilin’s principal department of culture said that Jilin should implement suggestions from Xi’s speech and find opportunities to embrace the prosperity of art development simultaneously.

In addition, professors and artists from Jilin College of The Arts recently held a panel discussion to study Xi’s speech.

Gan Yuchen, a Chinese painter said that art creation and education should always be people-oriented. Furthermore, the artists should firmly remember their responsibility and history.

Ma Shang, the president of Jilin College of the Arts (JCA) said, "As the only comprehensive art college in Northeast China, the college should keep improving its art creation and cultivating talent. We should also further enhance faculty members’ morality and make all students and faculty members focus on the arts."

Cui Yazhuo, a young instructor from JCA Cinematic School, expressed her determination to create arts based on civilians' lives and take responsibilities and missions as a young artist.
