Passenger flow at Jinggangshan Airport has seen a sharp increase in flights operating to Xi'an. By June 30, 2012, the airport had transported 177,552 passengers with the number of flights reaching 2010 and cargo freight amounting to 864.2 tons, a growth of 15.25 percent, 25.38 percent and 44.57 percent year on year respectively. Passenger flow is expected to exceed 400,000 this year.
Maintaining one regular flight to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Xiamen respectively each day, Jinggangshan Airport opened flights to Xi'an on April 27th.
Until now, the airport operates flights to seven cities and has further improved its air routes. Through campaigns such as group experience tours and holiday tours, short air routes are being cultivated. For long-distance flights to Beijing and Shanghai, the airport has implemented a strategy of cooperation with travel agencies by strengthening its publicity and marketing. The passenger flow at Jianggangshan Airport hit a monthly record of 36,444 this May and business revenue achieved 7 million yuan ($1.10 million) in the first half of 2012.
