The "Zhuantang" oil-paper umbrella won the bronze award at the tourism product competition during the 2012 China International Tourism Product Fair held in Yiwu, Zhejiang province. The "Zhuantang" oil-paper umbrella, produced by the Qinghua Nature Umbrella Factory in Wuyuan, stood out among nearly 3,000 tourism products.
The umbrella uses bamboo, cotton paper and tung oil as raw materials. It is made by hand after more than 100 processes such as making the umbrella rib, pasting the paper, painting on umbrella fabric and painting the tung oil. With strong rural characteristics, the umbrella symbolizes perfection, safety and promotion. The Zhuantang umbrellas are sold in major tourism cities in China as well as foreign countries including Japan, Singapore, Europe and the US.
