On April 10, the Jiangxi scheduling meeting for tourism development was held by the Jiangxi provincial government in Nanchang. It analyzed the tourism economic situation of the province in the first quarter and arranged tourism work for the second quarter and the second half year. Zhu Hong, vice-governor attended the meeting and made a speech.
Zhu listened to the work reports made by the provincial administration of tourism, municipal governments and some key scenic spots. He said that the tourism industry of the province still made steady progress though the growth became slower in the first quarter of this year.
The province received 45.88 million domestic and foreign tourists and realized 29.25 billion of tourism revenue, increasing by 16.56 percent and 18.20 percent year-on-year.
All departments have come up with many new ideas, new measures and new highlights in promoting tourism work. They are confident and are capable of overcoming the current difficulties and trying to make new achievements and breakthroughs during the next stage.
Zhu Hong said the tourism sector of the province needs to seize development opportunities, attract more tourists and increase tourism revenue and growth rates. The related departments should work out new and practical methods, introduce supporting policies, make efforts in tourism publicity, quicken the construction of tourism facilities, develop tourist markets, foster tourist brands, organize festivals and events, cultivate the emerging businesses of tourism and raise the tourist service level.
The tourism sector of the province should also increase efforts in key work to maintain fast development while making greater contributions to building a prosperous and beautiful Jiangxi.
