The fifth meeting of eleventh National People's Congress of Jiangxi province was held on Feb 1, 2012.

In the meeting, the provincial government supported the scenic areas of the Jinggang Mountain, Poyang Lake and Huanggang Mountain and decided to declare them a part of their World Cultural Heritage.

According to Lu Xinshe, acting governor of Jiangxi province, this year the province will accelerate the development of its tourism industry and strives to build a brand that symbolizes that the "landscape in Jiangxi is beyond compare". It also hopes to earn a total of over 130 billion yuan in tourism.

The key point of the tourism industry construction is to promote infrastructure in tourism area, and advance the building of "Red tourism". They also hope to create a tour center in Shangyao city and tour infrastructure for the Mingyue Mountain. The government should support Longhu Mountain, Jingde town and Wuyuan city to apply for an AAAAA tourism area, and declare Jinggang Mountain, Poyang Lake and Huanggang Mountain as part of their World Cultural Heritage.

At the same time, the development of the Central Soviet "Red tourism" is crucial. Rural tourism and hot spring tourism should also be seen as important and the national rural tourism experimental area in Wuyuan city should be supported. The goal in 2012 is to receive 190 million visitors and earn 130 billion yuan in tourism income.
