Zhangjiagang in East China's Jiangsu province announced that local governments at county, town and village levels will work together to enrich the city's nightlife and boost its nighttime economy, local media reported on April 23.
New measures include promoting culture, catering and accommodation sectors, improving services at libraries, museums and sports venues, and introducing nighttime travel routes.

The city will set up a number of 24-hour bookstores and gyms and build a series of pedestrian streets featuring local specialties. Special discounts at shopping centers and supermarkets will also be offered to stimulate consumption at night.
According to local authorities, regular cultural bazaars will soon be held on Yangshe old street, featuring intangible cultural heritage items and creative cultural products.
Activities including cultural performances, a square dancing competition, a yoga contest and a three-a-side basketball game will also be organized at the city's Wanda Square.
