The Zhenshan Bridge in Zhangjiagang, East China’s Jiangsu province, has recently been completed and will open for traffic on Jan 15.
The two-way six-lane bridge is located in the city’s free trade zone. It spans 642 meters and is the longest inland river bridge in Zhangjiagang. It also features bicycle lanes and sidewalks.
The bridge sits 7.5m above the water, allowing ships to pass under it, according to its designer.
It connects the downtown area and a newly-built district with a number of residential areas, commercial complexes, and schools.
