Zhangjiagang launched its own chapter of the Western Returned Scholars Association on Sept 10, providing a platform for overseas scholars to offer advice for the port city's development.
Founded in 1913, the Western Returned Scholars Association is a national organization of Chinese students who have returned from overseas study.
In recent years, with the rapid economic and social development of Zhangjiagang, the number of students who return to the city for work, business and development after studying abroad is increasing.
