Zhangjiagang Yangtze River Cultural Festival concludes

The 2018 China Yangtze River Cultural Festival drew to a close on Nov 14 in Zhangjiang's Poly Theatre.
A series of colorful cultural activities including folk art performances, charming traditional dramas and humorous skit show, as well as international magic show hit the stage of Zhangjiagang, not only in the urban areas but also in the rural areas.
The shows provided local residents a chance to gain a deeper understanding of Yangtze River culture.
Shen Guofang, the Party secretary of Zhangjiagang city, delivered a keynote speech at the closing ceremony.
“In this year's festival, international humor art brought more laughter to local residents, drama shows gave national treasures to ordinary people and poetry competition made residents more closer to culture.”
During the past years, Zhangjiagang, together with 12 provinces and cities along the Yangtze River, has made efforts to build the Culture and Art Festival into a giant folk culture gala to boost traditional culture along the Yangtze River.
After the closing ceremony, the Wuxi Opera, Happy Harbor made its premiere at Poly Theater. It is a farce around the story of a family, a couple and a blind date.
This year's cultural Festival organized a series of activities including the 6th International Humor Art Week and the 8th Yangtze River Drama Festival, from Oct 31 to Nov 14 to showcase the profound culture alongside Yangtze River.
