A promotional event featuring high-tech welding products presented by the National Technical University of Ukraine (NTUU) got underway at the port city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province on March 21.
Hosted by Professor Valeriy Kuznetsov, head of the Surface Engineering Department of NTUU, the event was attended by representatives of 12 local enterprises, including the leading Jiangnan Boilers & Pressure Vessels Co and Jiangsu Puge Machinery Co.
Kuznetsov introduced the visitors to a variety of the university's latest achievements. Participants were especially interested in machinery that modifies weld lines by taking advantage of nano-oxides.
The two sides discussed topics ranging from thermal spray product coating using arc-excited ultrasonic techniques to welding of wires with low silicon content.
After these in-depth exchanges, Kuznetsov went to visit several local companies where he shared views on enhancing the core technology of the local soldering industry and stepping up the integration of welding and new materials industries.
The port city of Zhangjiagang has been gearing up to promote its international image in recent years, and has had some especially fruitful cooperation with Ukraine, including some joint projects such as development of equipment used for the production and recycling of polyethylene mulches, which was ranked to provincial levels.
