Yanjiang High-speed Railway to be built in 2017
A high-speed railway along the Yangtze River, connecting Shanghai and Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, will get underway in 2017. The Nanjing-Zhangjiagang section will stretch some 214 km, and trains will travel at speeds up to 200 km per hour. Although it will take four years before completion, the high-speed railway will provide a better method of transportation for residents in the port city.
Tongsujia Railway begins advanced works
The Ministry of Railways officially announced to launch the advanced works of Tongsujia Railway on Oct 21. This means that the 191-km railway travelling from Nantong in Jiangsu province to Jiaxing in Zhejiang province, using Zhangjiagang as a hub, will soon be put into construction. The trains are designed to travel at speeds up to 250 km per hour.

Tennis school to open in 2017
A branch of the Institute of Chinese Tennis will open in Zhangjiagang. The campus began construction last September, and will open in early 2017. As the first tennis school in the port city, it is sure to foster a new sporting trend across Zhangjiagang.
